Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is spearheaded by Dr Abhijit Ari (MD Pediatrics J. K. Lon Hospital Jaipur, FNB Pediatric Critical Care, Fellowship in PICU and CATS from Great Ormond Street Children Hospital, London) who has 11 years’ experience in this subject. Previously he was the junior consultant in PICU in Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore.
- PICU cares for children and young people (1month to 18 years) who need special care for serious medical or surgical conditions. Children in paediatric intensive care require intensive care support from doctors, specialized nurses and other members of the PICU team.
- We believe in holistic patient care and it needs compassion for the patients including their relatives. Our whole team always takes care of this part every time they meet them.
- We can perceive parents’ anxiety and pain when their child gets admitted in a critical care unit.
- We believe that talking with the parents regarding their children’s progress could mitigate those problems.
- We do focused counselling two times in a day where we emphatically explain patients current situations.
- We are a 10 bedded unit and is runned by experienced Pediatric Intensive care specialists and Pediatrician who provide 24X7 comprehensive care to the extremely sick patients.
- Our nursing staff and other supporting members are well-experienced in taking care of those critically ill patients requiring diligent management for their healing.
- The unit is staffed by full-time paediatric intensivist and paediatric critical care nurses, each certified in Paediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Paediatric superspecialist in various medical and surgical specialties are available for immediate consultation.
