Dr. Deepak Sharma did his MBBS from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner, Rajasthan, followed by post-graduation in Pediatrics from Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, which is among the best medical school of India and is a well renowned medical institute of North India.

After doing his post-graduation, he did his DNB Neonatology super-specialty training from Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad, India, under the counsel of Dr. Srinivas Murki, who is a renowned Indian figure in the field of Neonatology.

During his 3 years training, he learned pathophysiological details of numerous neonatal diseases and also learned to manage various sick neonates with different severity of sickness. He also mastered the art in managing extreme low birth weight and extreme premature newborn having birth weight as low as 600 gram and 25 weeks gestational age. He also got expertise in all neonatal procedures including central line insertion, all modes of invasive ventilation, CPAP, functional echocardiography, head ultrasound, inhaled nitric oxide and therapeutic hypothermia. During his training he managed newborns diagnosed with different congenital malformations and got enough expertise in antenatal counselling for these neonates. He was consultant neonatologist and head of department in National Institute of Medical Science Medical college, Jaipur for four years where he taught post-graduate students the art of neonatology for better neonatal outcome. He is first neonatologist from Rajasthan who have been awarded gold medal in DNB Neonatology. He has experience of doing more than 70 therapeutic hypothermia in neonates having birth asphyxia. He has published more than 180 publications in different national and international journals, chapters in book and has been faculty in various conferences and CME. His aim is to find out new ways of treatment which are cost-effective, affordable and easily manageable. As Neil Armstrong said- “Research is creating new knowledge”. And thus he would like to take this knowledge to the patient’s bedside and bring about new innovations in the field of Neonatology.
